3rd MOSACELL SYMPOSIUM
MAY 7th, 2019
On May 7th, the 3rd edition of the annual MosaCell symposium will be organized!
At this years symposium, we will have lectures from internationally renowned keynote speakers and presentations of MUMC+ researchers on the use of MSCs and iPSCs for disease modeling, organoids, and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing. There will also be a competition for the best pitch and best poster presentation, so PhD students and post-docs: send your 200-word abstract before April 25th to Mosacell@maastrichtuniversity.nl
Please register at http://2805280a17a2.fikket.nl/event/mosacell-3rd-annual-meeting. Registration is free, but mandatory and limited to 75 participants.
We hope to see you all on May 7th between 10.00h and 17.00h at the “groene zaal” UNS50.
2nd MOSACELL SYMPOSIUM
MAY 15, 2018
On Tuesday the 15th of May, MERLN will be organizing the 2nd annual MosaCell conference!
At this second annual symposium the theme is “Meet the Neighbours”. We will have four lectures from scientists in the greater Maastricht region. Similar to last year, we will organize a workshop entitled "Mindmapping MosaCell" and we ask the question: Which science and technology is hidden amongst us? By the end of the day we hope that you will have met your new collaboration partners!
You can register for the event here:

1st MOSACELL SYMPOSIUM
MAY 18, 2017
MosaCell is an initiative to support research on patient-derived cells for disease modeling and therapy at the MUMC+ and on May 18th 2017 we organized the 1st edition of the annual MosaCell symposium.
At the symposium there were lectures of four internationally renowned keynote speakers, pitch presentations of MUMC+ researchers, a workshop on developing scientific research in a team and a photo-microscopy contest.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
Professor of Regenerative Medicine
Hubrecht Institute, Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research
Utrecht University
Professor Cancer development and Immune defense
Institute for Molecular Life Sciences
Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen
Microscopy contest:
Many beautiful microscopy images were uploaded on Sciscope and based on voting and judgment by a jury a price was awarded.
Winner of the
microscopy contest:
"Mass-spec imaging of a rat knee"
by Ufuk Tan Timur (Orthopedic Surgery), Nina Ogrinc Potocnik (M4I) and Florian Barré (M4I).
This is a mass-spectrometry image of a coronally sectioned rat knee. Please note the beautiful shape of the femur (upper side) and tibia (lower side) which are covered by hyaline cartilage (orange/reddish colour). Please also note the beautiful curved shape of the growth plate in the femur (upper side).
